About Me:
I am a sociocultural anthropologist with broad interests in justice, conflict resolution, and displacement in the United States and African Great Lakes Region. I received my PhD in Anthropology and Graduate Certificate in Disasters, Displacement, and Human Rights at the University of Tennessee. I earned my BA in Anthropology with a minor in Geography and emphasis in African Studies and Languages from the University of Georgia.
Much of my academic work utilizes conflict resolution as a lens to investigate daily experience, lived realities, and the sociolinguistic politics of displacement, conflict resolution, and social justice in rapidly transforming spaces. My research often integrates perspectives from anthropology, sociology, geography, public health, and legal studies.
