My research focuses on the construction of identity, ethnicity, and culture. I use sports to examine social activities, social organization, and cultural change. Currently, I'm working in Los Angeles, CA and Oaxaca, Mexico researching the game of basketball and its impact on Oaxacan migrant communities.
