About Me:
A major focus of my work and research is the strategies that communities use to establish favorable positions in their regional and national contexts. Field experience in this area includes 23 years as a community development specialist with the Cotabato Manobo people of the Philippines and 2 years with the US Peace Corps as an agricultural extensionist in Thailand's Department of Land Development. I currently teach cultural anthropology at Payap University (Chiang Mai, Thailand) and serve as anthropology coordinator for the Mainland Southeast Asia Group of SIL International.
