  • Hello,
Thanks for your email. Mine is jencardew@gmail.com
I'll send you an email closer to SfAA to see if you'll be there and if we can meet up- I'd love to chat with you. I'll definitely be there.

  • sure thing. we should know if we get accepted by December.
when you are at AAA this year, look for Patti Sunderland and Rita Denny, of Practica group. They are promoting their book, plus have been consulting for years in this area (they often work for ad agencies).
  • Wow-- I think I am right where you were 6years ago! I am also working really ard to brand myself here and to sell the value of the anthro perspective. I work for an agency called OLSON (www.oco.com) and the company philosophy is to build communities around brands. We have currently developed what we call our Strategy Group and we also have a lot of research capabilities. I'm so excited about the future for this group, and for anthropologists breaking into similar positions elsewhere. I had been thinking about attending the AAA and I will put the pressure on my manager to see if I can get out there. Will you let me know when you hear back about your panel? I would love to be there, and to connect with you and with others blazing this trail.
    Let's keep in touch.

  • Hi Donna-- I'm so thrilled that you have found this group! I've been trying to find other anthropologists on the consumer insights side and have had very little luck so far. I'm working as resident anthropologist at an advertising and marketing agency in Minneapolis. It's a position that was created for me, and I am basically making a lot of my responsibilities up as I go! I would love to hear more about your work and if you are keyed into any other networks of anthropologists doing similar work!
