About Me:
I've been involved in research that involved policy and planning for many years in Ireland. I also have been using the various forms of participatory research since the 1980s, on getting more girls into school and issues of female genital mutilation in seven African countries. I've also trained people in these techniques to be used for many issues in Nepal, China, eastern Europe, and a range of African countries. I've also trained groups in a number of international aid agencies such as ESAID and DFID, as well as NGOs. As the Marie Curie Fellow at the National University of Ireland, Dublin, I taught PRA/PLA, etc. techniques to doctoral candidates in several disciplines.
I setup the first department of anthropology in Ireland and taught there for many years.
