About Me:
In June 2008, I relocated to Milwaukee, WI to begin a new position as Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Department of Population Health. We are beginning a new PhD program in Public and Community Health this fall and I will be teaching the public health foundations course for the program. My research here will focus on community-based research to reduce/eliminate health disparities in both rural and urban Wisconsin.
From 2004-2008, I was an Assistant Professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I was in the Center for Alaska Native Health Research and the Department of Psychology. My research there focused on diabetes prevention and body weight perceptions among Yup'ik Eskimos residing in remote southwestern Alaska. I am currently analyzing data from the study (funded by NIH) and writing up results.
