About Me:
I have studied the politics of growth and local economic development in Lawrence, Kansas. Issues surrounding development have long been prone to controversy in Lawrence, and I have studied two similar but separate aspects of these politics. First, I have studied the role that the culture of a community influences these politics and policies, as well as the government rationalities (Foucault's governmentalitiies) of local elected officials and the degree these views are influenced by local culture and the extent they are influenced by a globalizing political economy.
