-- with over 20 years experience in social research and community development. Her most recent engagement involved documenting breakthrough cases of ‘best practice’ in corporate social responsibility among Australian mining companies, and analyzing social impacts of mine closure in the Philippines.
-- previously worked with Rio Tinto Technical Services – Melbourne as Senior Consultant (social development and community affairs) advising business units on implementing the company’s Communities Policy in existing mining operations and new projects.
-- In the Philippines, worked with the Environmental Management Bureau in technical reviews of EIAs, specifically examining the social acceptability of large-scale projects such as mining, real estate, logging, and energy; was also extensively involved in capacity building for governance and resource management among indigenous communities, and environmental management education for small and medium business enterprises, local government, and communities.
