About Me:
I am a Certified Management Consultant with a specialty in management communication. For over 37 years, I have owned my own consulting firm and consulted with Fortune 1000 businesses, US Government Agencies, Universities, unions, professional and trade associations and the top 4 US management consulting firms.
I focus on how top management communicates with their employees and managers, as well as how they provide factual information to their external audiences and their regulators. My firm, R. H. Wohl & Associates, Inc., (also know as "In Plain English(R)" held a US Government consulting schedule allowing us to provide consulting, facilitating and survey services.
I have introduced several operational concepts into business and people research over the years. One of these, is the theory of comparative functionalism. This allows researchers not familiar with a cultural activity, symbol or item to compare the functions the cultural activity, symbol or item plays in its native society with things in the researcher's own society that carry out the same functions and to compare and rank how efficient each thing is in the researcher's own society and compare their efficiency ratings.
Other concepts I have introduced include "Rehumanizing the corporation", "Grandparenting between competing generations" and Reintroducing seniors and retirees into corporate business environments to mitigate intergenerational chafing and employee-management riffs"
I attended Florida State University and Graduated from George Washington University with a Degree in anthropology and a minor in accounting. I started the George Washington University Anthropology Club and brought in curators from the Smithsonian Institution to expand the education available to students from the anthropology department. This gave students an opportunity to meet and hear directly from some of the names they had been reading about in their textbooks. I also invited Dr. Lewis Leaky to speak to the GWU Anthropology Club and all anthropology majors in the Washington, DC area.
I attended GWU Law School, American University Graduate School of Business, where my MBA program focused on marketing research, marketing and management.
