About Me:
I am an anthropologist with research interests in relation to safety, risk and movement. I conduct research in this area within two different research fields: the rail industry across Australia in both passenger and freight environments, and forced migration and settlement of asylum seekers, refugees in Australia and the UK. I have extensive experience using ethnographic fieldwork techniques, including participant observation, interviews, focus groups and surveys. My research is based on building collaborative partnerships with industry stakeholders to ensure that research is relevant, beneficial and with practical and applied outcomes. I currently hold the position of senior postdoctoral research fellow at CQUniversity’s Appleton Institute in South Australia.
