About Me:
I am a writer and ethnographer and teach English and cultural studies at Boston U. As a member of PEN New England, I help coordinate a writing workshop for a women's prison and serve on PEN's Freedom to Write Committee. As a school psychologist and teacher for many years, I am sensitive to mixed culture neighborhoods and the newcomer experience. In my spare time, I am a chamber pianist and outdoorsnik.
