About Me:
I completed my doctoral work in anthropology at the University of California, Los Angeles. My doctoral research focussed on the ongoing interethnic conflict in North Cyprus and Turkish Cypriot negotiatons of memory, nationalism and suffering. I am particularly interested in the transferance of collective memories intergenerationally and how young people negotiate their identities in relationship to collective memories. I have a background working in international development on school reform.
