About Me:
I am a second-year cultural anthropology master's student at the University of Idaho. My thesis is focused on the lived experiences of masculine presenting, gay women in the rural NW however I am building the foundations for my dissertation project. My research interests are Same-sex intimate partner violence and the impact hegemonic gender stereotypes play in police charging decisions and prosecutorial narratives. I have a similar interest in female defendants up on capital charges and sentencing, particularly since women on death row are more likely to be convicted of violence against family. One of my professors brought this group to my attention and I am eager to network, etc. I am still trying to figure out this academia thing but I have figured out that I like the research part.
