About Me:
This fall I started an Anthropology program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I am also connected to the UAF "Resilience and Adaptation" IGERT entitled. I am interested in studying commercial fishing, fishing communities and environmental transitions in northern marine regions, specifically the Gulf of Alaska, the Bering Sea and the Canadian north atlantic. Recently, I've become interested in research methods in oral history, story-telling and the role of creative literature in community and personal identity. At the moment, I'm in the planning phase for my PhD research and interviewing as many fishermen as I can--both active and those who are retired.
