About Me:
Joshua Swiatek is a Masters candidate in the Anthropology Department at The University of Memphis, where he also currently occupies a graduate research assistantship at the C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa. His main interests are in environmental anthropology, political ecology, and studies of the built environment. Joshua is from Buffalo, NY, where he graduated with degrees in Anthropology and History from Canisius College. Joshua has worked with with Bay Islands Conservation Association of Utila, where Joshua helped create environmental education modules for students on the island of Utila focused on conservation, cultural, and historical education. Joshua's current research involves studying the feasibility of ecovillages in his hometown of Buffalo.
