Judy - I was surprised and pleased to get this message from you. I had 900 plus messages on an email address I had not used for many months. I moved to a better and less expensive apt. on April 1 of this year, but it was more difficult and time consuming than I had expected. I broke my arm and gashed my leg and was bandaged up pretty heavily, so I lost touch, failed to change my address with a lot of friends, businesses, etc. Anyway, here is my new info, and I would love to hear from you. best email ADDRESS is nlg929@comcast.net. Home address: 12401 Branner Way, #102, Chester, VA 23836. Phone 804-425-0021. (land, I do not give out my cell, since I only use it in the car in case I need it and will not answer if it rings. I retired in 1983, moved first to Guatemala, where I taught pro-bono at the U. del Valle de Guatemala, but in 2005 I moved back to the US. I have relatively good health, but am limited in activities by one serious (but not lethal) impediment. I am being honored the end of this month by del Valle, and have a plane ticket, but as of today, I think I have to back out - I don't think I can survive the trip. It is to be a permanent, once a year event, called The Nancie L. Gonzalez Applied Anthropology Series. In any case, I have written the key-note address and sent about 20 pictures of me in various parts of the world as they asked, and am in constant touch with the organizer of this (one of my former Guatemalan students, who now has her PhD and teaches there) and with my elder son, Ian, who lives permanently in Guatemala. His sons are both in college in New York, my daughter's daughters are in college in California, and my younger son' eldest daughter is to be married on March 7 in Annapolis. His son is a senior in h.s. and has already been rushed by several colleges and universities for his athletic prowess as a soccer goalie. All of his cousins now in college have earned scholarships - the eldest of Ian is at Cooper Union in NY on a five year all-tuition scholarship, studying architecture. The two girls are into environmental, biological, or other scientific fields - one just beginning graduate work at Stanford, the other a junior at Berkeley. Well, that's enuf for now - I am eager to hear about you and yours, with addresses, phone numbers, etc. Thanks for writing - I didn't really know what I was signing up for, and I have received several other notices about comments here, but not knowing the names of the comentators, I threw them into Spam. I will now go to that box and retrieve them. Best wishes, Nancie
