ANYWHO.
I would like to know more about your job. Maybe I should look into Americorps here...
Help me be more anthro-active and not just book-nerdy!
The decision to do the program online came primarily from geographic constraints- my boyfriend can work (in his current job) anywhere in the Southeast, but that limited my school options. There were several profs at UNT I wanted to work with and they have an excellent business anth program so their online program sealed the deal. I'm also really comfortable doing courses online (had taken several in undergad), so I wasn't concerned about doing a program online.
Christina Wasson, Megan Bannon, and I did a pilot research project about the online and on-campus grad students at UNT and we found that many of the online students made the decision to school online because of geographic, family, and work constraints.
I've been in the program for a year and a half and I really like it :)
I'd be happy to talk with you about the UNT program. If you want to email me some questions or give me an idea of what you'd like to know, I'd be happy to email back :)
I've also wrote about the experience the last year and a half at my blog (www.anthroblogs.org/jcardew) - not sure if that would help or not.
Have a good day!
