About Me:
I am a linguistic and cultural anthropologist passionate about understanding worldviews through the study of language use. I have experience working with Alaska Native communities and Yup'ik language speakers to understand how Traditional Knowledge is encoded in narratives of personal experience. My work with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Subsistence Division takes a mixed-methods approach to understand the diverse subsistence needs of Alaska Native communities. My work further takes an ethnographic approach to understand local perspectives on Fisheries, including traditional practices, adaptations to environmental conditions, and input on cultural resource management.
