Nice to hear from you, even after many months. Yes, I went to the conference and presented a paper. I met several other people working on similar subjects, but mostly in the anthropology of disaster. I hope to go to the SfAA meeting in Merida, Mexico next March. Do you think you will go? What are you working on now?
I am presenting a paper at the SfAA meetings on some aspects of humanitarian work. It is called Blessing in Disguise: Disaster Relief and Cultural Revitalization. It is on a cultural heritage preservation project on the island of Nias, off the NW coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. It is about recovery efforts in the wake of the 2004 tsunami and 2005 earthquake. I'm presenting on Wednesday, the 18th at 8:00. Hope to meet you at the meetings and learn more about what you are doing.
Best regards,
Christina Kreps
