About Me:
Currently I am a PhD student at Wayne State University. My dissertation focuses on the role of digital media in the creation of the Deaf self in Guatemala where I will be conducting my field research during the 2014 school year. While my current focus is in Guatemala, I have previously worked on research projects in Ecuador, Costa Rica and the US in Los Angeles, California and Detroit, Michigan. I am fluent in Spanish, speak and write French at an intermediate level and I'm learning the Guatemalan Sign Language. I received my MA from Cal State LA and a BA from Cal State Northridge.
