About Me:
I am an early-career practicing anthropologist with diverse experience in research, teaching, management, operations & administration. While my training is primarily in cultural and linguistic anthropology, I'm comfortable with a wide range of methodologies, including participant-observation, semi-structured interviewing, audio/visual techniques, and survey methods.
I integrate holistic research and systems thinking to identify and act upon opportunities to better people's lives, in both large and small ways. My combination of business experience and a background in anthropology and the social sciences gives me a grounded perspective on a broad range of business issues:
- customer service & operations;
- attitudes, branding, & identities;
- understanding reported & observed behavior, unarticulated needs, & the role of objects and the physical environment in people's lives.
I am hard-working, intellectually curious, resourceful, organized, and diligent, and I enjoy talking to people and learning new things; I'm currently expanding my repertoire of applied research techniques and exploring Human-Centered Design as I look for opportunities in design research and customer/user experience (UX).
